What a great place to celebrate Faye's 60th birthday! We were fascinated by the surfers - all day long. Yesterday, for the first time, we saw several turtles swimming in the surf right in front of the condo. I just looked out the door to see one poke its head up.

We had another wonderful stay at your condo! This time we stayed close by and spent hours watching the sea turtles, the surfers and the beautiful sunsets! We spent time in the ocean snorkeling and boogie boarding. I sprained my knee at a little surf lesson so it was wonderful having your comfortable condo to relax in (fortunately) it wasn't until the day before we left that I had my little accident!). We love this little slice of paradise. I don't think there is another condo in Poipu this close to the ocean! We hope to be back again! Thank you so much!

Well, it's time to leave after 2 weeks. We'll miss our house gecko, the three turtles, the myna birds and doves and sparrows. We'll miss Poipu Grill and the garlic shrimp truck. (My husband recommends the pineapple coconut cheesecake at Poipu Grill!). I never knew Kauai had so much great hiking to do! Waemea Canyon is wonderful! We've decided this Kuhio Shores complex is in the very best possible location, and that #115 is the best possible place. We've enjoyed the museum, the fireworks of Concert in the Sky for independence day were the best either of us have ever seen. We love the cashiers at Big Save in Koloa Town and don't forget to have breakfast at the Oki Diner in Lihue.

Today is our last day here and we have enjoyed our stay so much that we're already talking about coming back! The turtles have kept us company on the few occasions we sat out and had our meals on the lanai. The view from your condo is awesome and we've also caught the best sunsets off the beach next door (not to mention the awesome meal we had at the Beach House!).

We were treated to turtles daily, the occasional monk seal, and even a few professional surfers :-) We were able to save money dining out thanks to your well equipped kitchen. Waking up to the sounds of crashing waves makes us wish we didn't have to leave.

Our 4 daughters and their families gave my wife and I 6 days on Oahu and 6 days on Kauai as a 50th Wedding Anniversary gift. We attended a reunion of my ship the USS Wahoo (SS-565) while on Oahu. We had tours of the old and newer submarines at the Pearl Harbor submarine base. The U.S.S. Bowfin from World War II and U.S.S. Louisville the newer atomic sub. A great time and then we came over to Kauai and the great became greater. What a fabulous place you have here. We've watched wonderful sea turtles for hours from the living room, dining area and while relaxing outside. We also saw dolphins and whales. The whales were spouting 3/4 of the way to the horizon. We've also driven to the ends of most of the roads. Beauty is everywhere. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

This has been a great stay. We enjoyed this well equipped condo. The location is beautiful. We saw the turtles and whales and lots of good surfers.
The kitchen is so well equipped, we enjoyed our own Pina Coladas and smoothies. The best fruit came from the Farmer's Markets all over the island. We almost hated to leave for sight seeing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hawaii. Your condo is everything we expected and more. Lots of time was spent on the patio watching whales, turtles, seals and more. This island is certainly a paradise to behold. Pearl Harbor was a day to remember - very impressive.

We have enjoyed our stay here more than we can express. We, too, have seen the dolphins, whales, turtles, surfers ... what a lovely place to watch Hawaii go by.
We have been to the islands many times so seeing the sights is like revisiting old friends. The somewhat cloudy weather just encouraged us to take advantage of the beautiful view from your lanai! We would love to return to this little bit of paradise some day.

So ends our two week stay in paradise. The view from the condo is awesome - we saw whales (though not as many as last year), turtles, enjoyed the surfers. We have stayed at Kuhio Shores five times in various condos and are convinced it is the best location on the South Shore. We cooked in and ate out. We particularly enjoyed Keoki's Paradise, Pizetta's Pizza and Savage Shrimp. Went to Roys - good but way expensive!
Enjoyed a relaxing time but are anxious to return home.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to share a piece of life in Kauai. You have an amazing place. The reef, waves, whales, dolphins, surfers and snorkelers were always willing to add some excitement to the day.
We have had quite an adventure here with snorkeling in the beach areas, hiking in the Canyon trails - our last one was a fabulous 6 hr trek "Nu'alolo Trail - Cliffs Loop"! Spectacular views of the PoliHali Coast.
It is a nice change from our little mountain paradise. Especially to hear the ocean all night long. I didn't realize you can surf at night but last night woke up to a full moon - bright as day time - and a group of surfers riding the waves at midnight!!
We are off to the North of your island to see how wet life can really get. Thanks again, everything was perfect.

What an incredible and beautiful place. The snorkeling was out of this world. So great to swim with the turtles and watch the whales. The reef fish are just incredible and what a great condo. We felt like home without the freezing weather. Just a wonderful vacation. We hope that someday we will return. I just can't say enough about your wonderful spot in paradise. Thank you!

We've experienced every kind of weather and have enjoyed it all - even the last 2 days of wind (they closed the schools on Kauai, Oahu and Maui) a cold front from the Aleutians. But thanks to our wonderful condo, we were able to enjoy what we like to do best - watch the ocean. Exciting to see the storms roll in and out bringing a sea that looked like the North Atlantic in winter. We've seen whales from the lanai everyday (one complete breach) and turtles in the closest waves. The spouting Horn has been putting on a great show.
Your home surpasses expectations!

Happy New Year!

You have a wonderful place here. We sat out on the patio every morning and evening and saw whales, turtles, and surfers. People would stop by to ask us about renting your place and we gave them your card. We enjoyed the sound of the surf and the beautiful sunsets. The Beach House Restaurant is amazing! Snorkeling was awesome! Everything is right here!
We go home to rain, snow and mud slides and pissed off kids. You may be getting a call from us soon!

Aloha!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was amazing! We had a wonderful time. Our favorite beaches are Tunnels Beach, Hanalei Bay, Lydgate Park, and the beach in front of the Sheraton. We had a great Luau at the Sheraton and highly recommend it. The Kauai Sea Tours 5 hr Catamaran tour was incredible - we definitely had a great time watching dolphins, touring Napali Coast and swimming with Sea Turtles and the lunch and breakfast were great. Puka Dog was the best hot dog and the Beach House was a wonderful end to our perfect vacation. The condo was great and we enjoyed watching surfers every evening. We will definitely be back to #115. We had a fantastic honeymoon!

Aloha and Mahalo for the great time here at your Kuhio Shores paradise #115.
We had a wonderful #30 here but need another month or two! We'll weigh in on a few can't misses as we picked up some good tips from this log too! Check Out -
Waimea Canyon - great hike (2 hr) to Waipo'o Falls. Views along the way are incredible. park at spot between mile 14 & 15 for trailhead.
Polihale Beach - make a day of it. Pack a lunch don't worry about the unpaved road, it's navigatable. NaPali is your backdrop. Stop at JoJo's for shaved ice just to watch them write your order on a tiny piece of paper.
Dine at Pomodoro or Brick Pizza on way home. In poipu take the road till it ends at Mahaulepu Beach - pristine and wild - hike around. Kulau Trail is another awesome hike with incredible views. Park at the river and walk back to the trail head. Don't miss the rainbow evealyptus trees on the other side of the bridge.

What a treat! Such a lovely condo at such a great location. On March 30th we were frantically searching for airplane tickets - yes, we were among the many who held Aloha Air tickets that were no longer valid. Hawaiian Airlines came through and hopefully our credit card company will obtain reimbursement for us. As we have been to Kauai several times before this was just a restful vacation for us. We enjoyed watching the whales, turtles, birds and people. We had rough seas for several days so it was fun watching the surfers waiting for that perfect wave to ride in on. Our favorite place to eat was "Casa di Amici". The menu was wonderful and you have a choice of regular or "lite" portions.

We came to Kauai to celebrate our 55th wedding anniversary. We have had many "honeymoons" over all these years but we have to say this was one of our best. We were so comfortable in your condominium. The view is "breath-taking" from your lanai. Your home was very comfortable and everything we needed was there. Kauai is a beautiful island and we were ale to tour the whole place.

I am writing on the last evening of our trip. We are going to the Beach House tonight to celebrate my birthday today. Right now we are on the lanai watching turtles as we have every evening.
This was a trip of firsts for us both - first time in Hawaii, first time snorkeling (we loved it), first time seeing a whale (out front), first time in a helicopter (Air Kauai was great!), first time ziplining (Princeville Ranch on the North Shore - very, very fun), bought our first real piece of art - right in Koloa, first time leaving our 3 girls (that part was hard). We also spent a lot of time relaxing in front of the ocean and you truly have a slice of paradise here. It is our 15th anniversary, ad this is the honeymoon we never had. Mahalo for letting us share your beautiful place here at Kuhio Shores. We will definately recommend it to our friends!

This trip was more tha I could have ever imagined. It was hard to leave the peacefullness of the condo. Saw turtles and whale, taking us out onto the lanai.
The helicopter ride was great. Wonderful, clear day. Well worth it ($).
The drive to the end of the east side was beautiful. If you want to have an early dinner at the Beach House (next door) make reservations ASAP.
Roy's was very nice (spendy), fine dining. Well worth it..

Aloha, Jack & Dorinda!

And mahalo for the use of your lovely condo! We are here on our honeymoon and, as it was our first trip to the islands, realized we had chosen a paradise.
At first, we only wanted to relax on the lanai and watch the turtles and whales - we saw lots of both!! As the week wore on, we ventured out more to see the sights, and we're so glad we did! Wailua Falls, Waimea Canyon, Spouting Horn, the surfers on the North Shore ... all were spectacular. The Beach House, both restaurant and beach (for snorkeling) were perfect, as was JoJo's shaved ice!
Coming back to this comfortable, homey condo was the perfect ending to each perfect day. Hopefully, we'll make it back for our first anniversary!
